Understanding Resolution Differences

Resolution defines the number of pixels a screen can display. More pixels means more detail and sharper images. When comparing resolutions:

  • 4K (3840×2160) has exactly 4× the pixels of 1080p (1920×1080)
  • 1440p (2560×1440) has 1.78× the pixels of 1080p
  • 8K (7680×4320) has 16× the pixels of 1080p and 4× the pixels of 4K
  • More pixels on the same screen size = higher PPI = sharper image
